Eight Spring A/C Tips

Spring cleaning is a common practice in many households, but it's essential to include tasks related to your A/C system on your checklist to ensure that your equipment is prepared for the rising temperatures. Here are eight tips to help you stay cool throughout the summer:

  • Inspect your outdoor unit for any winter-induced damage.
  • Clear any leaves or debris around or behind your unit before starting it up.
  • Maintain a clearance of two to three feet around the unit when planting new shrubs or plants to ensure proper airflow.
  • Schedule an annual maintenance appointment to enhance efficiency, lower cooling costs, prevent outages, and extend the lifespan of your system.
  • Regularly clean or replace your filter to prevent airflow blockages and system malfunctions.
  • Rotate your ceiling fan blades counterclockwise to compliment your air conditioning system.
  • Install a programmable thermostat for better temperature control and cost savings.
  • Consider upgrading your HVAC system between seasons to avoid emergency replacements and ensure optimal performance.
